bJob Classification b Contract Must be willing to relocate to Virginia for a 1yr long contract Position title Controls Engineer Location Virginia Duration 1yr contract The Controls Engineer will be part of the group responsible for programming controls at the unit level. The software all comes together for power plant and turbine units at the HMI. The position involves the upgrade of turbine systems. There are 2 types of programs they normally work on - Control software upgrades of existing product and development of a customized solution to update existing unit. Customization includes HMI, migration of software and a new platform. After the controls work is complete, the team supports the installation of the product. - Full-panel upgrades involving the retrofit to a new digital upgrade of the HMI software. Minimum qualifications -BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or Physics -4 yrs of engineering background in controls application software design -Understanding of Gas Turbine engine systems and operation -Must be able to program PLCs from scratch -Expertise to interpret functional qualifications and translate into Controls logic -Expertise to interpret PIDElectrical Schematics and background with basic instrumentation -Demonstrated great communication and technical written correspondence skills -Demonstrated expertise to proactively manage multiple projects and deliver on commitments and deadlines.
